Privacy Policy

BantLo by Mimarlogics

This Privacy Policy explains how Mimar Logics Private Limited (“Mimar Logics”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the BantLo mobile application (“BantLo”, “the app”). BantLo helps you record and split shared expenses (“kharchas”) with friends, track who owes whom, and settle up. By using BantLo you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

✓ The short version
  • We only collect what we need to run the expense-splitting features of the app.
  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
  • There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
  • BantLo does not process payments or connect to your bank; any actual payment happens outside the app.
  • You can delete your account and data at any time.

2. Who we are

BantLo is developed and operated by Mimar Logics Private Limited, which acts as the data controller for the personal data processed in connection with the app.

  • Developer / data controller: Mimar Logics Private Limited
  • Contact for privacy questions: contact@mimarlogics.com
  • Postal address: Al-Sadat Colony, Talagang Road, Mianwali, Punjab, Pakistan

3. Information we collect

We only collect information needed to run the expense-splitting features of the app. We group it as follows.

Account and identity information

When you sign in, BantLo uses Google Sign-In handled through our authentication service (Keycloak). From your Google account we receive and store:

  • your name,
  • your email address,
  • your profile picture (avatar), where available, and
  • a unique account identifier.

We use this to create and secure your account, to display your profile, and to let friends recognise you.

Friends and contacts you add

BantLo lets you build a private list of friends to split expenses with. For each friend you add, we store the information you provide or that is shared with you, which may include their name, email address, and avatar. You can add a friend by scanning their BantLo QR code, which contains that person's account identifier, name, and email so you can confirm who they are before adding them.

Financial and transaction information

To split and settle expenses, we collect and store:

  • Expenses (“kharchas”) you create or participate in: title, amount, currency, date and time, notes, and how the amount is divided between participants.
  • Balances calculated between you and each friend.
  • Settle-up payments you record or receive: amount, currency, date, optional note, status, and which expenses they cover.
  • Payment methods you choose to add so friends can pay you back: the account title (name on the account), the bank or wallet name, and the account number / IBAN as you enter them. This information is shown to friends you share it with so they can pay you.

BantLo does not process payments itself. It does not move money, connect to your bank, or take card or payment credentials. Any actual payment happens outside the app, directly between you and the other person.

Photos you attach (optional)

When recording that an expense was paid or a settle-up was made, you may optionally attach a proof photo — either by taking a new photo with the camera or choosing an existing file. These images are stored on your device and, where you attach them to an expense or payment, are synced to our servers and may be visible to the other participants of that expense or payment. Attaching a photo is always optional; the app works without it.

App settings and preferences

We store your in-app preferences, such as your theme choice, time-input preference, and which types of in-app notifications you want to see. Some preferences (such as theme and colour choice) are kept only on your device.

Technical information

To keep your session secure and to sync your data, the app handles:

  • Authentication tokens issued when you sign in, and
  • Network connectivity state (whether your device is online), which the app reads to decide when to sync and to show offline notices.

BantLo does not collect your device's location, and does not include advertising, analytics, attribution, or third-party crash-reporting software. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

4. Device permissions we use

Permission Why BantLo uses it
Internet To sign you in and sync your expenses, balances, friends, and payments with our servers.
Camera (optional) Only when you choose to take a proof photo for a payment or settle-up. You can use the app fully without granting this.
Network state To detect whether you are online or offline so the app can sync at the right time and show offline notices.

5. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • create, secure, and manage your account and sign you in;
  • let you add friends and record, split, and display shared expenses;
  • calculate balances and track settle-up payments and their status;
  • show your chosen payment methods to the friends you share them with so they can pay you back;
  • store and display any proof photos you choose to attach;
  • sync your data across sessions and keep it available when you are offline; and
  • respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

6. How we store and sync your data

  • Your data is synced to and stored on our backend servers operated for Mimar Logics.
  • Data is transmitted between the app and our servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
  • Access to your account on our servers requires your authenticated session.

7. How we share your information

We share your information only in these limited situations:

  • With other BantLo users you choose to interact with. When you share an expense or record a payment with a friend, the relevant details — such as your name, avatar, the expense information, amounts, notes, and any proof photo — are visible to the other participants. When you add a payment method and share it, the account details you entered are shown to those friends so they can pay you.
  • With service providers that operate BantLo on our behalf, such as our hosting and authentication infrastructure. These providers process data only to provide the service to us.
  • For sign-in, with Google. Authentication uses Google Sign-In; your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Where required by law, such as to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

8. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide BantLo to you. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with that account (see Your rights and choices), except where we need to retain certain information for legitimate reasons such as security, fraud prevention, resolving disputes between users over shared expenses, or complying with legal obligations. Where we retain such data, we keep only what is necessary and for only as long as needed.

9. Your rights and choices

Access and correction

You can view and edit much of your information — your profile, friends, expenses, payment methods, and preferences — directly in the app.

Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your BantLo account and the personal data associated with it at any time by emailing contact@mimarlogics.com from the email address linked to your account, or by using the account-deletion option in the app where available. When you request deletion, we remove the personal data associated with your account, subject to the limited retention described in Data retention. Temporarily signing out of the app does not delete your account or data.

Deleting specific data

You can remove individual items — such as expenses, payment methods, friends, or proof photos — within the app without deleting your whole account.

Other rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing, or to object or lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority). To exercise any of these, contact us at contact@mimarlogics.com.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers and authenticated access to your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your Google account credentials safe, as they protect access to BantLo.

11. Children's privacy

BantLo is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. International users

BantLo is operated from Pakistan. If you use the app from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Pakistan or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using BantLo you consent to such transfer, subject to this policy and applicable law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of BantLo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
